Life

You ever have those days where you want everything to just melt away with the rain?

When the holidays you booked are so close, yet feel light-years away. I often wonder how we manage. How do we put that smile back on our faces and keep plugging on?
You know what days like that need? A cute, cuddly, FLUFFY puppy to snuggle up with - a soothing cup of tea and a warm blanket. Is there anything better than a snugly pet on a terrible day? Me thinks not.

But here's a thought, is there anything better than being able to turn to YHWH on a terrible day? It's hard to remember that no matter how tough life gets, how icky people at work can make you feel, or how much laundry piles up at home, that our Father is there. Why is that so hard to remember? I really can't understand why that's so hard for me to remember. And why can't I remember that if I work as unto YHWH everything else will fall in line? Maybe because life is a challenge...maybe because the walk of faith I have chosen can often be fraught with difficulties and struggle...
But if our God is for us? Then who could ever stop us? And if our God is FOR us then what could stand against?

The answer?

Nothing.

So maybe it's a cute puppy...or maybe it's time spent soaking in my Father's light.

Interesting

It's funny...I was listening to Adventures in Oddessy and somehow the life of Jesus was given life in my mind. Can you imagine? Seeing Him face to FACE? Can you just picture...could you just die with anticipation? I can't even imagine how wonderful it would have been to see His face...to hear His voice...to know that He came for me because I SAW Him come for me.

I...I can't picture the wonder...the joy...the excitement. The whole point of the episode was to be found by God. I hope that if He's looking for me, I won't run and hide, but I will boldly say, "Here I am LORD...take me."

There Are Days

There are times when you run into people in your workplace that truly believe they are "helping you." When in reality all they're doing is trying to force THEIR way of accomplishing things down your throat and then finish the tirade with "but you can do it your way too." Really? Is that possible now that you've taken so much time to prove that any way other than yours way is CLEARLY wrong? Why is it that people feel the need to correct and fix whatever you do in the name of "helping." It doesn't really help anything if you weren't wrong in the first place. People often feel the need to correct instead of teach. Suggesting a different way of doing things instead of saying "I would never do it THAT way," can change the attitude of a department in a heartbeat.

Strange to think that the words you speak can either build or destroy. And they can either build or destroy depending on the day the recipient is having, or the day you're having. Sure, it's not the BEST feeling in the world to be torn down in front of 8 other people and even your boss won't stick up for you, but perhaps it was a learning experience that won't make sense till you're well on your way to retirement.

It's tough to deal with when you're in it. But YHWH always has a reason for these moments. Even if they aren't clear to you in the moment, His hand is always there to guide and protect.

Some Days

You ever have those days when you wish you could float AWAY from your job to somewhere far away? Like Narnia! Why can't there be a place like that in this world? Why is it, when you're having a tough week, THOSE are the weeks your boss chooses to nit pick at EVERYTHING you do. Innocent mistakes, or mistakes that don't even exist and yet there they are picking at your wound. How can the honeymoon period end so quickly? And how can the minor issues in another employee's life be respected when there are some who's grandfather is battling cancer. And to top that off with a nice red cherry, the employee who receives leeway and sympathy? Also watches T-V while on shift, all day, every day.

I know Jeremiah asks the LORD, "Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the faithless live at ease?" And this I have to question myself. Is it because we're called to a higher standard? Or it is because we are to learn that OUR rewards are what we build HERE...on Earth...So, if we are wicked, then we have built NOTHING in the Kingdom of Heaven and we will travel to our eternal reward with empty hands. So how can our Father say, "well done, good and faithful servant"?

It's hard to accept that, THIS is how it is. That life is a learning process. And even for those who LOVE to learn, it can be difficult. It's still frustrating...and watching other people win when they achieve nothing is painful...so what's the purpose? Why this job? And why now?
